Grady Coker, B Company, has a recurrence of his metastic malignant melanoma.We pray for his peace.

October 13, 2007

Dottie Addison, wife of A Company Marine Fred Addison, recently underwent a heart cath with placing of coronary artery stent. We pray for her complete recovery. We missed Fred and Dottie at our recent reunion.

August 13, 2007

Cork Blaemire, C Company Marine, underwent a heart cath on August 6th and had double bypass surgery on August 7th. His wife, Donna, reported he is recovering well. He is in our thoughts and we pray for his complete recovery.

Bill Walker, C Company Marine, is home after four months in the hospital and re-hab. He had a four by-pass heart surgery with a aortic valve replacement. Four days after the surgery he had to be re-operated on to repair his leaky by-passes. We pray for his complete recovery.

Jan. 29, 2007

Rita Martin,beloved wife of Charles Martin, B Company Marine. passed away after a three year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease). We extend our deepest sympathy to her family. We pray for her peace. Rita was a very nice person.

We are in the process of obtaining noted Marine author, Charles Henderson for our guest speaker at our banquet of the 31st First Armored reunion, October 6th, 2006.
Mr. Henderson has written many books about the Marine Corps most noted is the Marine Sniper. His latest book, Jungle Rules, was published November 2006.
We are very fortunate in this selection.

William Blatzheim's (Co. A - killed on Guam) nephew (Mr. Garry Blatzheim) requests to contact anyone who knew his uncle. Billy had 3 brothers still living who were also in the service at the same time. If you knew Billy, he would like to hear from you. Garry's email address is ggb44@aol.com.

Ed Dooley, B Company Marine, is to have back surgery in Houston on September 27th. We will miss him and Mary at our reunion. We pray for his complete recovery.

July 4, 2006
Harold Roberts, D Company Marine, had 18 family members attending the 2005 reunion. At this date 07/04/2006 he is suffering from cancer that has spread to his brain. He will undergo another round of radiation tomorrow. We pray for his recovery.

Dottie Addison, wife of A Company Marine Fred Addison, is home from the hospital after suffering a light stroke. She recovering and resting well. We pray for her complete recovery.

Oct. 18, 2005
B Company Marine, George Tremblay, underwent open heart surgery at the Pittsburg, PA VA Hospital on October 14th. He had a triple by-pass procedure and is reported doing well. He has our prayers for a speedy recovery.

Company B Marine, Richard Duhe, and wife, Joyce, lost their home and all of their processions in New Orleans in the Katrina storm. They have pulled things together and are buying a home in St. Francisville, LA. Their address is P O Box 2721, St. Francisville, LA 70775. Cell phone-1-225-721-1333. We understand that they are returning to New Orleans Sunday to view the damage. Let us give them our support and prayers.

Earl Hill is hospitalized and has asked Dick Zenger and me to assist him should any last minute needs arise.

Dick and I have been in contact with the Convention Service Mgr., Director
of Catering and Tour Mgr. In Reno and all is flowing well.

One of Earl's support people in his office, Randy Watkins is assembling the information coming back to him from the participants regarding tours and meals.

All of the hotel management people stress the importance of knowing the head count to be able to accommodate our group.

Please urge all participants to get their information to Randy promptly. Send
the form to the address indicated on the schedule letter.

Dick Zenger is traveling this week. He will be available Saturday Sept. 24 and thereafter. I am available thru Spt. 29th after which I will be motoring to Reno.

Virgil Viles, D Company Marine, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. We pray for his peace.

Bob Fish, Company A, died in Phoenix, AZ on May 8th and will be buried in a National Cemetery in Portland, OR on May 24th.

Pedro Ruiz, Company B Marine, has moved from Palermo, CA to 2748 Oak Knoll Way, Oriville, CA 95966. Pedro has recently been in the hospital with recurrent problems of his diabetics. We wish him well.

Report from Shawn Ramsey, grandson of Virgil Viles D Company Marine. He reports his grandfather is dying with Alzheimer's disease.We pray for his peace.

Harold Roberts, D Company Marine, completed his radiation therapy for non-smokers lung cancer on December 10th. He will know results of his therapy on January 10th. We pray for his good results.

Jim Chandler, Company B, underwent major surgery on August 24th in Austin. He is recovering well and the pathology report on removed tissue was satisfactory. Jim is upbeat and hopes to make our reunion in Oklahoma. We pray for his speedy recovery.
