The First Armored Amphibian Battalion wishes to extend a heartfelt

9/23/07: Leda Whatley, wife of C Company Marine Ed Whatley,
died in her sleep Sunday (September 16th). We extend to the
Whatley family our deepest sympathy and pray for peace of
the departed.

1/07 Rita Martin,beloved wife of Charles Martin, B Company
Marine. passed away after a three year battle with Amyotrophic
Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease). We extend our deepest
sympathy to her family. We pray for her peace. Rita was a
very nice person.

Margaret Carlson died this morning after a three year battle
with cancer. She is the wife of B Company Marine, Stewart
Carlson. Steward Carlson was our Captain and B Company Commander
to whom we owe much. We extend our deepest sympathy to the
Carlson family. We pray for Margaret's peace. (8/11/06)

Faye Farmer, wife of deceased C Company Marine, Grady Farmer,
died. Her funeral was August 8th 2006, at Haskell, Alabama.
We pray for her peace.

We lost a good Marine. Ed Sanabria who was in the 3rd Armored
Amphibian Battalion died on 2/16/05. Report by his son Chris
Sanabria who said his father was a great Dad and a proud Marine.

Betty Paul, wife of D Company Marine Harry Paul, passed away
peacefully in her sleep the morning of November 19th, 2004.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the Paul family; We lost
a good person. We pray for her peace.

Actress Peggy Ryan died in Las Vegas at the age of 80. She
was special to the First Armored having entertained us and
visiting us at our camp on Saipan. She performed at a Las
Vegas reunion with her aged girl act called "Titts and
Taps." she also visited a Milwaukee reunion. We pray
for her peace.

Cecilia Nora Baumbach, beloved wife of Joe Baumbach, D Company,
passed away this morning March 29, 2004. Cecilia attended
many of our reunions and was loved by all that met her. She
will be greatly missed. Our prayers and deepest sympathy go
to Joe and his family. We lost good person this morning.
This is a very nice person and our reunions will never be
the same.

Joan Walker, wife of C Company Marine Bill Walker, passed
away 2/3/2004.

Helen Ferchau, beloved wife of Donald Ferchau (Company A)
passed away on 07/17/2003 after an extended illness. She was
a familiar face at First Armored reunions and will be missed
by all that knew her. I will never forget the long interesting
talk I had with Helen in the Philadelphia Airport following
the Ocean City reunion. Our deepest sympathy goes to Donald
(Frenchie) and all his family. May her soul rest in peace.We
have lost a good one.

Lee Dotur, wife of A Company Marine Paul Dotur, passed away
the first week in August, 2003. Lee had been ill for some
time. We extend our deepest sympathy to Paul and the Dotur
family.
